David B. Smith, Esq. was born and raised in the Western New York area and attended the Rochester Institute of Technology, where he earned a Bachelor of Science with honors.  Mr. Smith would go on to the State University of New York at Buffalo School of Law and Jurisprudence where he received his Juris Doctorate in 1993. During law school, Mr. Smith was a Law Clerk for the Erie County District Attorney’s Office Special Investigation and Prosecution Division Bureau.

Mr. Smith is designated in the 4th Department’s Attorney for the Child panel and regularly serves as an attorney for children in both Family and Supreme Court matters.  Mr. Smith also serves as a Court Evaluator and Attorney for Alleged Incapacitated Persons.  Mr. Smith is also certified as a Civil Circuit Mediator in the Florida Supreme Court the United States Virgin Islands and with the American Mediation Institute.

Mr. Smith’s litigation record includes numerous bench and jury trials before Federal, State and Justice Courts.  Mr. Smith maintains an extremely active General Practice with an emphasis on Domestic Relations, Family law and Trial work. Currently, Mr. Smith is handling preparation for a number of jury trials and other litigation in New York, Florida, The United States Virgin Islands, Puerto Rico and Arizona, while actively managing the firm.

Mr. Smith is recognized as a Super Lawyer and enjoys a distinguished rating among his peers.
